Our Mission Statement
Vox Nostra – A Voice of Our Own
Our mission is to be the voice of persons with disabilities, and help them achieve full participation and equal status in society through independent living.
DPA’s role is to be an advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities. DPA does this by influencing decision-makers to implement policies and programmes to promote inclusion of persons with disabilities in all areas of life. We also hold regular round-table discussions and consultations with the government and other disability organisations, put up position papers, and send letters and press releases to the media.
DPA publishes articles, commentaries and announcements on a regular basis to keep people with disabilities – as well as our non-disabled allies – informed and engaged in local and international disability developments.
We also encourage those who are interested in disability issues to get involved. We welcome contributions to the blog.
